Buying Abstract Art Online
Buying abstract art online is a leap of faith. A lot of people look at abstract art and think, "I could do that." Well, that might be true, but what a lot of people don't understand about abstract art is the value has little to do with what is seen on the canvas. Abstract art is about the process the artist went through to create it. It is also about the emotions that it, hopefully, evokes. There is a school of thought in the abstract art world that believes the layering of paint allows the painting to be born. Some artists will actually weigh their painting to determine if it is finished. They feel that the piece isn't really ready for the person buying art until the true vision has been realized. The artist realizes that vision by allowing the shapes and colors of the painting to join and lap over one another creating the final piece. The colors the artist selects also helps create the emotions that attract the art buyers eye. When I see a piece of abstract art, I am either drawn to it and end up buying the art or it does nothing for me. I would suggest when buying abstract art to purchage a piece that speaks to you. Perhaps it is the colors or the shapes, but whatever catches your eye take the time to really look. If you're selecting a piece of abstract art to buy remember that it will hang in your home for sometime. It should be something that draws your eye time and again. You will be looking at it for years. Buying art, any art, comes down to a couple of different catagories. Are you buying art because you think it will look good over your sofa? Or are you buying art because you think it will gain value over a period of time? In my opinion, when a person is buying art online, pick a piece you love and if it gains in value that's just icing on the cake.
